Many strange scenes appeared on Sirtea Garden this year. Growing on tree about 20 feet high not a wood fungas (ear), it's a wild white mushroom. See the bottom texture.


今年在茶翁家園看到不少奇景新物。這個長在約20 尺高的樹上不是木耳, 而是白野菇。看它底下的纖維結構可分辨出。

Taiwan Squash is juicy, sweet and full of fiber. We will have a lot to harvest this year. Can't wait to enjoy them.


多汁、甜、又富有纖維的臺灣菜瓜(又叫絲瓜)今年會有很好的收成。棚架上開着無數的公、母花, 九至十月正是菜瓜期。再過幾天就有臺灣菜瓜可吃了。

Duck Business 閒聊鴨事

5 male ducks were having a meeting, I thought. First, they gathered in circle, and then 1 moved into center.
Not to disturb them, I went around to gather their feathers and played with them.
When I came back, I found the one in center stood on dock rail talking to them. I wished to know what they were talking about. Hey! MYOB!

五隻公鴨圍成一個圓圈, 好像在開會。不久, 一隻走到中間。
不想打擾它們, 我就去撿地上的羽毛來排編玩玩。
回來後,看到中間那隻跳到欄杆上𠿤嚕叫。真想知道它們在討論什麼要緊的事。

Journey Home 回家

I might die next second! (From Francis Chan's "Crazy Love-Overwhelmed by a relentless God"). So might be everybody! Am I afraid or worry? No. Beyond the sunset, there is a sweet home waiting for me. The Bible assured me in Revelation 21:4: "He (The Lord Jesus) will wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying, nor pain. All of that has gone forever." I like "Beyond The Sunset" song and the home it described. I post it here.

Let's Play Hopscotch 來玩跳房子

I saw the original picture at Pastor Julio Fonseca's IDA Gospel Blog. I just added "Hopscotch and 跳房子" to it.
It reminded me that I played this game when I was in elementary school, the fun (at that time no concret driveway or asphalt parking lot, mostly played on flat dirt ground), and about those playmates. My grandchildren will be able to play this game soon.
To refresh my memory, I researched online and found that children verywhere around the world play this game. There are variations about the drawings and rules.

它讓我憶起國小時玩過這個遊戲的樂趣(當時尚無水泥地或柏油走道, 大都是在土面上畫圖來玩),也想起那些小玩伴。我的孫兒女快到會玩跳房子的年齡了。
網上看到世界各地的小孩都在玩這個遊戲。祇是地上所畫的圖和玩法規則略有變化而已。

Rain, rain. Rain outside, rain inside our house. Boss Joe and helper Bill of The Grover's Roofing came to repair our roof. They did a good job, I will recommend to anyone who asks.

雨, 雨。外面落雨, 厝內漏水。今天叫格落波屋頂裝修公司來修理。喬老板和畢助手來修補十多年前他們舖蓋的屋頂。作得很不錯, 如果有人問起, 我會推薦他們。

I do not swear (except in Court) and do not like to swear in here. What I say next is true, nothing but true. I took picture of this stem broken upside down mushroom because of its texture. After I downloaded it to my computer, I found a figure in it. I didn't do any photowork on it (left). I don't know why and how my camera captured this one. The only reason I can think of is: I must have deleted some pictures from my camera, and the camera played a trick. But, why this figure not other scene? Whatever, I am assured that God is with me all the time.

我不發誓(法庭除外)也不想在此破例發誓。接下來我所說的是真實, 全是真相。今晨看到這朵斷梗反向的野菇, 因爲喜歡它的紋路而拍下它。下載到電腦後, 發現圖中人像。原圖(左)我未曾作任何修改。我不清楚這個相機怎樣拍出它。唯一推想到的是: 可能刪除照片後留下舊跡而相機玩把戲。想不通爲什麼是人像而不是其他的影像呢? 不管如何, 我從中得到訊息,上帝無時無刻與我同在的。

52年前金門823 炮戰,已經在記憶中漸被人淡忘; 而新生的一代是否能體會出當時台灣人的心情呢? 中華民國流亡到台灣的國民黨政府與中國共產黨在金門互相炮轟, 多少台灣青年爲打共匪而死傷。
諷刺的是當今掌權的馬英九政府要一中棄台(自稱地區, 自稱先生, 不加入聯合國)。那些當時喪亡的家屬與尚存的受傷者是否能接受這樣的安排呢? 我很迷悵失落。

I met this vacationing fisherman early this morning while I was making my round. He caught a few big catfishes and basses. He allowed me to photo his catches, and also asked for my blog address.

Strange Scene 怪哉

Hot humid thunderstorm weather spoiled a lot of beautiful mushrooms. This is the first time I see decayed wild mushrooms growing white mildew around them.

遠遠看到地上很多白點以爲鴨子又打架掉羽毛。走近才發現因連續悶熱加上西北雨的天氣, 這些腐爛的野草菇都長白霉菌。這還第一次看見的怪事呢!

Recovering 康復中

Subject: Lily`s operation successful 手術成功多謝代禱

Thank you very much for your precious prayer for Lily`s operation. The diagnosis was unspecified genital prolapse. Lily discovered it 4 years ago, but she just unwisely ignored it. On Aug. 17 Lily was hospitalized, on Aug. 18 her doctor, without cutting open her lower abdomen, using a modern medical technique, cut out her drooping uterus successfully. She came home today, Aug.20, carrying a closed urinary drainage bag, which will be taken off when she returns to the hospital clinic to see her doctor on Aug. 23. She has no pain and can eat as usual. Thank you again for your prayer support. Thank God for His healing grace.

I have gone through 49 times of radiation therapy and 10 times of chemotherapy. Because of Lily`s operation I have postponed my chemotherapy until September 7. My oncologist doctor says I`ll have to receive two more times of chemotherapy, hoping the 2 cm large tumor in my lung will disappear then, as the tumor in my liver did; if not, there will be more chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Please continue to pray for me, many thanks.
