漢皇重色思傾國, 御宇多年求不得。

楊家有女初長成, 養在深閨人未識。

天生麗質難自棄, 一朝選在君王側;

回眸一笑百媚生, 六宮粉黛無顏色。

Sêng hoan sū-iàn bû hân-hā, Chhun chiông chhun-iû iā choan-iā.

Hāu-kiong ka-lē saⁿ-chheng lâng, Saⁿ-chheng thióng-ài chāi chi̍t-sin.

Kim-chhiⁿ chong sêng kiau sū-iā, Gio̍k-lâu iàn pà chùi hô-chhun.

Chí-mōe tē-hiaⁿ kai lia̍t-su, Khó-lîn kong chhái seng mn̂g-hō͘

Sūi lēng thian-hā hū-bó sim, put-tiōng seⁿ lâm tiong seⁿ lú.

承歡侍宴無閑暇, 春從春遊夜專夜。

後宮佳麗三千人, 三千寵愛在一身。

金星妝成嬌侍夜, 玉樓宴罷醉和春。

姊妹弟兄皆列士, 可憐光彩生門戶;

遂令天下父母心, 不重生男重生女。

 

Lê-kiong ko-chhù ji̍p chheng-hûn, Sian-ga̍k hong-phiau chhù-chhù bûn

Oān-koa bān-bú gêng si-tek, Chīn ji̍t kun-ông khòaⁿ put-chiok.

Hî-iông pî-kó͘ tōng tè lâi, kiaⁿ phòa gê-chiûⁿ ú-I khiok.

Kiú-tiông siâⁿ-khoat ian-tîn siⁿ, Chhian-sêng bān-khiâ sai lâm hêng.

驪宮高處入青雲, 仙樂風飄處處聞;

緩歌慢舞凝絲竹, 盡日君王看不足。

漁陽鼙鼓動地來, 驚破霓裳羽衣曲。

九重城闕煙塵生, 千乘萬騎西南行。

 

Chhùi hôa iô-iô hêng ho̍k chí, Sai chhut to͘ -mn̂g pah-î lí.

La̍k-kun put-hoat bô nái-hô, Oán choán gô-bî má chiân sí.

Hoa-tiân úi tè bô lâng siu, Chhùi-khiàu kim-chhiok-gio̍k so-thâu.

Kun-ông ng-bīn kiù put-tit, Hôe-khòaⁿ hiat-lūi siong hô lâu.

翠華搖搖行復止, 西出都門百餘里。

六軍不發無奈何? 宛轉蛾眉馬前死。

花鈿委地無人收, 翠翹金雀玉搔頭。

君王掩面救不得, 回看血淚相和流。

 

N̂g-ai sàn-bān hong siau-só, Hûn chiàn êng-u teng kiàm-koh.

黃埃散漫風蕭索, 雲棧縈紆登劍閣。

峨嵋山下少人行, 旌旗無光日色薄。

蜀江水碧蜀山青, 聖主朝朝暮暮情。

行宮見月傷心色, 夜雨聞鈴腸斷聲。

 

Thiⁿ-soân tè-choán hôe liông gū, kàu chhú tiû-tû put-lêng khì.

Má-gûi-po hā nī-thó͘ tiong, put-kiàn gio̍k-gân khang sí chhù.

Kun-sîn siong-kò͘  chin tiam i, Tong bōng to͘ mn̂g sìn-má kui.

Kui lâi tî-oán kai i-kiū, Thài e̍k hû-iông bī-iang liú

Hû-iông jû-bīn liú jû-bî, Tùi chhú jû-hô put lūi-sûi

Chhun-hong thô lí hoe khui ji̍t, Chhiu-ú ngô͘-tông hio̍h loh sî.        

天旋地轉迴龍馭, 到此躊躇不能去。

馬嵬坡下泥土中, 不見玉顏空死處。

君臣相顧盡霑衣, 東望都門信馬歸。

歸來池苑皆依舊, 太液芙蓉未央柳;

芙蓉如面柳如眉, 對此如何不淚垂?

春風桃李花開日, 秋雨梧桐葉落時。

 

Sai-kiong lâm lāi to chhiu-chháu, Loh-hio̍h boán kai hông put-sàu.

Lâi-hn̂g chú-tē pe̍h-hoat sin, Chiau-pâng a-kàm chheng-ngô͘ lāu.

Se̍k-tiān êng hui su chhiàu-jiân, Ko͘ teng tiau-chīn bī sêng-bîn.

Tī-tī chiong-kó͘ chho͘ tn̂g iā, Kéng-kéng seng-hô beh sū-thian.

西宮南內多秋草, 落葉滿階紅不掃。

梨園子弟白髮新, 椒房阿監青娥老。

夕殿螢飛思悄然, 孤燈挑盡未成眠。

遲遲鐘鼓初長夜, 耿耿星河欲曙天。

 

Oan-iuⁿ óa léng-sng hôa tang, Húi-chhùi khim hân sûi ú kiōng

Iu-iu seng-sí pat keng-nî, Hûn-phek put-chêng lâi jîn bang.

Lîm kiông tō-su hông-to͘ kheh, lêng í cheng-sêng tì hûn-phek

Ûi kám kun-ông tián-tńg su, Sūi kàu hong-su in-khîn be̍k.

鴛鴦瓦冷霜華重, 翡翠衾寒誰與共?

悠悠生死別經年, 魂魄不曾來入夢。

臨邛道士鴻都客, 能以精誠致魂魄;

為感君王輾轉思, 遂教方士殷勤覓。

 

Pâi khang gū khì pun jû tiān, Seng-thian ji̍p-tè kiû chi phiàn

Siōng kiông phek loh hā n̂g-chôaⁿ, Lióng-chhù bang-bâng kai put-kiàn.

Hut bûn hái-siōng ū sian-san, San chāi hi-bô phiau-biáu kan

Lâu-koh lêng-lông gō͘ hûn khí, Kî-tiong chhiok-iok to sian-chú.

排空馭氣奔如電, 升天入地求之遍;

上窮碧落下黃泉, 兩處茫茫皆不見。

忽聞海上有仙山, 山在虛無縹緲間;

樓閣玲瓏五雲起, 其中綽約多仙子。

 

Tiong iú chi̍t-lâng jī Thài-chin, Soat-hu hoe-māu chham-chha sī.

Kim-khoat se-siuⁿ khàu ge̍k keng, choán kàu Sió-gio̍k pò siang-sêng.

Bûn tō hàn-ka Thian-chú sú, Kiú-hôa tiùⁿ-lāi bang hûn-kiaⁿ.

Lám-I thoe-chím khí pâi-hôe, Chu-po̍k gîn-pîn thoa lí-khui

Hûn-pìn pòaⁿ phian sin khùn-kak, Hoe-koan put-chéng hā-tông lâi.  

中有一人字太真, 雪膚花貌參差是。

金闕西廂叩玉扃, 轉教小玉報雙成。

聞道漢家天子使, 九華帳裡夢魂驚。

攬衣推枕起徘徊, 珠箔銀屏迤邐開,

雲鬢半偏新睡覺, 花冠不整下堂來。

 

Hong chhoe sian-bē phiau-phiau kú, Iû-sū gê-chiûⁿ ú-I bú

Gio̍k-iông siok-bo̍k lūi lân-kan, Lê-hoe chi̍t-ki chhun tài hō͘.

Hâm chêng gêng-tē siā kun-ông, it pia̍t im-iông lióng biáu-bâng.

Chiau-iâng-tiān lāi un-ài choa̍t, phông-lâi-kiong tiong ji̍t-goe̍h tn̂g.

風吹仙袂飄飄舉, 猶似霓裳羽衣舞;

玉容寂寞淚闌干, 梨花一枝春帶雨。

含情凝睇謝君王, 一別音容兩渺茫。

昭陽殿裡恩愛絕, 蓬萊宮中日月長。

Tān kàu sim su kim-tiân kian, Thian-siōng jîn-kan hōe siong-kìⁿ.

回頭下望人寰處, 不見長安見塵霧。

唯將舊物表深情, 鈿合金釵寄將去。

釵留一股合一扇, 釵擘黃金合分鈿;

但教心似金鈿堅, 天上人間會相見。

 

Lîm pia̍t in-kîn têng kià sû, Sû tiong iú-sè lióng sim ti.

Chhit goe̍h chhit ji̍t tiong-seng-tiān,  Iā-poàn bô lâng su gí sî.

Chai-thiⁿ goān-chok pí-e̍k-niáu, Chai-tè goān ûi lian-lí-ki.

Thian-tn̂g tè-kiú ū-sî chin, Chhú-hūn biân-biân bô choa̍t kî.

臨別殷勤重寄詞, 詞中有誓兩心知。

七月七日長生殿, 夜半無人私語時。

在天願作比翼鳥, 在地願為連理枝。

天長地久有時盡, 此恨綿綿無絕期。

 

Seven-character-ancient-verse         Bai Juyi A SONG OF UNENDING SORROW

 

China's Emperor, craving beauty that might shake an empire,

Was on the throne for many years, searching, never finding,

Till a little child of the Yang clan, hardly even grown,

Bred in an inner chamber, with no one knowing her,

But with graces granted by heaven and not to be concealed,

At last one day was chosen for the imperial household.

If she but turned her head and smiled, there were cast a hundred spells,

And the powder and paint of the Six Palaces faded into nothing.

...It was early spring. They bathed her in the Flower Pure Pool,

Which warmed and smoothed the creamy-tinted crystal of her skin,

And, because of her languor, a maid was lifting her

When first the Emperor noticed her and chose her for his bride.

The cloud of her hair, petal of her cheek, gold ripples of her crown when she moved,

Were sheltered on spring evenings by warm hibiscus curtains;

But nights of spring were short and the sun arose too soon,

And the Emperor, from that time forth, forsook his early hearings

And lavished all his time on her with feasts and revelry,

His mistress of the spring, his despot of the night.

There were other ladies in his court, three thousand of rare beauty,

But his favours to three thousand were concentered in one body.

By the time she was dressed in her Golden Chamber, it would be almost evening;

And when tables were cleared in the Tower of Jade, she would loiter, slow with wine.

Her sisters and her brothers all were given titles;

And, because she so illumined and glorified her clan,

She brought to every father, every mother through the empire,

Happiness when a girl was born rather than a boy.

...High rose Li Palace, entering blue clouds,

And far and wide the breezes carried magical notes

Of soft song and slow dance, of string and bamboo music.

The Emperor's eyes could never gaze on her enough-

Till war-drums, booming from Yuyang, shocked the whole earth

And broke the tunes of The Rainbow Skirt and the Feathered Coat.

The Forbidden City, the nine-tiered palace, loomed in the dust

From thousands of horses and chariots headed southwest.

The imperial flag opened the way, now moving and now pausing- -

But thirty miles from the capital, beyond the western gate,

The men of the army stopped, not one of them would stir

Till under their horses' hoofs they might trample those moth- eyebrows....

Flowery hairpins fell to the ground, no one picked them up,

And a green and white jade hair-tassel and a yellow gold hair- bird.

The Emperor could not save her, he could only cover his face.

And later when he turned to look, the place of blood and tears

Was hidden in a yellow dust blown by a cold wind.

... At the cleft of the Dagger-Tower Trail they crisscrossed through a cloud-line

Under Omei Mountain. The last few came.

Flags and banners lost their colour in the fading sunlight....

But as waters of Shu are always green and its mountains always blue,

So changeless was His Majesty's love and deeper than the days.

He stared at the desolate moon from his temporary palace.

He heard bell-notes in the evening rain, cutting at his breast.

And when heaven and earth resumed their round and the dragon car faced home,

The Emperor clung to the spot and would not turn away

From the soil along the Mawei slope, under which was buried

That memory, that anguish. Where was her jade-white face?

Ruler and lords, when eyes would meet, wept upon their coats

As they rode, with loose rein, slowly eastward, back to the capital.

...The pools, the gardens, the palace, all were just as before,

The Lake Taiye hibiscus, the Weiyang Palace willows;

But a petal was like her face and a willow-leaf her eyebrow --

And what could he do but cry whenever he looked at them?

...Peach-trees and plum-trees blossomed, in the winds of spring;

Lakka-foliage fell to the ground, after autumn rains;

The Western and Southern Palaces were littered with late grasses,

And the steps were mounded with red leaves that no one swept away.

Her Pear-Garden Players became white-haired

And the eunuchs thin-eyebrowed in her Court of Pepper Trees;

Over the throne flew fire-flies, while he brooded in the twilight.

He would lengthen the lamp-wick to its end and still could never sleep.

Bell and drum would slowly toll the dragging night hours

And the River of Stars grow sharp in the sky, just before dawn,

And the porcelain mandarin-ducks on the roof grow thick with morning frost

And his covers of kingfisher-blue feel lonelier and colder

With the distance between life and death year after year;

And yet no beloved spirit ever visited his dreams.

...At Lingqiong lived a Taoist priest who was a guest of heaven,

Able to summon spirits by his concentrated mind.

And people were so moved by the Emperor's constant brooding

That they besought the Taoist priest to see if he could find her.

He opened his way in space and clove the ether like lightning,

Up to heaven, under the earth, looking everywhere.

Above, he searched the Green Void, below, the Yellow Spring;

But he failed, in either place, to find the one he looked for.

And then he heard accounts of an enchanted isle at sea,

A part of the intangible and incorporeal world,

With pavilions and fine towers in the five-coloured air,

And of exquisite immortals moving to and fro,

And of one among them-whom they called The Ever True-

With a face of snow and flowers resembling hers he sought.

So he went to the West Hall's gate of gold and knocked at the jasper door

And asked a girl, called Morsel-of-Jade, to tell The Doubly- Perfect.

And the lady, at news of an envoy from the Emperor of China,

Was startled out of dreams in her nine-flowered, canopy.

She pushed aside her pillow, dressed, shook away sleep,

And opened the pearly shade and then the silver screen.

Her cloudy hair-dress hung on one side because of her great haste,

And her flower-cap was loose when she came along the terrace,

While a light wind filled her cloak and fluttered with her motion

As though she danced The Rainbow Skirt and the Feathered Coat.

And the tear-drops drifting down her sad white face

Were like a rain in spring on the blossom of the pear.

But love glowed deep within her eyes when she bade him thank her liege,

Whose form and voice had been strange to her ever since their parting --

Since happiness had ended at the Court of the Bright Sun,

And moons and dawns had become long in Fairy-Mountain Palace.

But when she turned her face and looked down toward the earth

And tried to see the capital, there were only fog and dust.

So she took out, with emotion, the pledges he had given

And, through his envoy, sent him back a shell box and gold hairpin,

But kept one branch of the hairpin and one side of the box,

Breaking the gold of the hairpin, breaking the shell of the box;

"Our souls belong together," she said, " like this gold and this shell --

Somewhere, sometime, on earth or in heaven, we shall surely

And she sent him, by his messenger, a sentence reminding him

Of vows which had been known only to their two hearts:

"On the seventh day of the Seventh-month, in the Palace of Long Life,

We told each other secretly in the quiet midnight world

That we wished to fly in heaven, two birds with the wings of one,

And to grow together on the earth, two branches of one tree."

Earth endures, heaven endures; some time both shall end,

While this unending sorrow goes on and on forever.

Chan-chú pī-sek oa̍t”Sam put-bín, hô chiok í ti chi

Chú oa̍t”Hu hàu, tek chi pún iā, kàu chi só͘-iû seng iā. Hok chō, ngô͘ gú jú.”

“Sin-thé hoat hu, siū chi hū-bó, put-káⁿ húi-siong, hàu chi sí iā. Li̍p-sin hêng-tō, iông miâ î āu-sè, í hián hu-bú, hàu chi chiong iā. Hu hàu, sí î sū-chhin,  tiong î sū-kun, chiong î li̍p-sin. Tāi-ngáÛn`Bô liām jíⁿ chó͘, u̍t siu khoat-tek.`”

開宗明義章第一

  仲尼居,曾子侍。子曰:“先王有至德要道,以順天下,民用和睦,上下無怨。汝知之乎?”

  曾子避席曰:“參不敏,何足以知之?”

  子曰:“夫孝,德之本也,教之所由生也。复坐,吾語汝。”

“身體發膚,受之父母,不敢毀傷,孝之始也。立身行道,揚名於後世,以顯父母,孝之終也。夫孝,始於事親,中於事君,終於立身。《大雅》雲:'無念爾祖,聿修厥德。'

 

Thian-chú chiuⁿ tē jī

Chú oa̍t”Ài chhin chiá, put-káⁿ ò͘ î lângKèng chhin chiá, put-káⁿ bān î lâng. Ài-kèng chin-î sū-chhin, jî tek-kàu ka-î peh-sìⁿ, hêng-î sù-hái. Kài Thian-chú chi hàu iā. Hú-hêngÛn` Chi̍t-lâng  iú khèng, tiāu-bîn lāi chi.`”  

天子章第二

          子曰:“愛親者,不敢惡於人;敬親者,不敢慢於人。愛敬盡於事親,而德教加於百姓,刑於四海。蓋天子之孝也。 《甫刑》雲:'一人有慶,兆民賴之。'

 

Chû-hâu chiuⁿ te saⁿ

Chāi-siōng put-kiau, ko jî put-gûiChè-chiat kín-tō͘, boán jî put-ek. Ko jî put-gûi, só͘-í tn̂g-siú kùi iā. Boán jî put-ek, só͘-í tn̂g-siú hù iā. 諸侯章第三

在上不驕,高而不危;制節謹度,滿而不溢。高而不危,所以長守貴也。滿而不溢,所以長守富也。富貴不離其身,然後能保其社稷,而和其民人。蓋諸侯之孝也。 《詩》雲:“戰戰兢兢,如臨深淵,如履薄冰。”

Hui sian-ông chi-hoat put-káⁿ ho̍k, hui sian-ông chi hoat-giân put-káⁿ tō, hui sian-ông chi tek-hêng put-káⁿ hêng. 卿大夫章第四

非先王之法服不敢服非先王之法言不敢道非先王之德行不敢行。是故非法不言,非道不行;口無擇言,身無擇行;言滿天下無口過,行滿天下無怨惡:三者備矣,然後能守其宗廟。蓋卿大夫之孝也。 《詩》雲:“夙夜匪懈,以事一人。”

 

Sū chiuⁿ te gō͘

Chu î sū hū í su bó, kî ài tôngChu î sū hū í su kun, kî kèng tông. Kò bó chhú kî ài, jî kun chhú kî kèng, kiam chi chiá hū iā. Kò͘ í hàu sū kun chek tiong, í kèng sū tióng chek sūn. Tiong sūn put-sit, í sū kî siōng, jiân- āu lêng pó kî lio̍k-ūi, jî siú kî chè-sū. Kài sū chi hàu iā. SiÛn”Siok heng iā bī, bû thiam jíⁿ só͘ seⁿ.”

士章第五

資於事父以事母,其愛同;資於事父以事君,其敬同。故母取其愛,而君取其敬,兼之者父也。故以孝事君則忠,以敬事長則順。忠順不失,以事其上,然後能保其祿位,而守其祭祀。蓋士之孝也。 《詩》雲:“夙興夜寐,無忝爾所生。”

 

Sù-jîn chiuⁿ te la̍k

Iōng thiⁿ chi tō, hun tōe chi lī, kín sin cheh-iōng, í iúⁿ hū-bó, chhú sù-jîn chi hàu iā. Kò͘  chū Thian-chú tì î sù-jîn, hàu bô chiong-sí, jî hoān put-ki̍p chiá, bī chi iú iā.

庶人章第六

用天之道,分地之利,謹身節用,以養父母,此庶人之孝也。故自天子至於庶人,孝無終始,而患不及者,未之有也。

 

Sam-châi chiuⁿ te chhit

Chan-chú oa̍tsím chai, hàu chi tāi iā

Chú oa̍t ”Hu hàu,  thian chi keng iā, tè chi gī iā, bîn chi hêng iā. Thian-tōe chi keng, jî bîn sī chek chi. Chek thian chi bêng, in tōe chi lī, í sūn thian-hā. Sī í kî kàu put-siok jî sêng, kî chèng put-giâm jî tī. Sian-ông kiàn kàu chi khó-í hòa-bîn iā, sī kò͘ sian chi í phok-ài, jî bîn bō͘-I kî chhín, tîn chi î tek-gī, jî bîn heng-hêng. Sian chi í kèng-jiōng, jî bîn put-chengTō chi í lé-ga̍k, jî bîn hô-bo̍ksī chi í hó-ok, jî bîn ti kìm. SiÛn`Hek-hek su ún, bîn kū jíⁿ chiam.`”

三才章第七

  曾子曰:“甚哉,孝之大也!”

子曰:“夫孝,天之經也,地之義也,民之行也。天地之經,而民是則之。則天之明,因地之利,以順天下。是以其教不肅而成,其政不嚴而治。先王見教之可以化民也,是故先之以博愛,而民莫遺其親,陳之於德義,而民興行。先之以敬讓,而民不爭;導之以禮樂,而民和睦;示之以好惡,而民知禁。《詩》雲:'赫赫師尹,民具爾瞻。'

Tî-ka chiá, put-káⁿ sit î sîn-chhiap, jî hóng î chhè-chú hu Kò͘ tek jîn chi hoan-sim, í sū kî chhin. Hu jiân, kò͘ seng chek chhin an chi, chè chek kúi hióng chi. 孝治章第八

子曰:“昔者明王之以孝治天下也,不敢遺小國之臣,而況於公侯、伯、子、男乎?故得萬國之歡心,以事其先王。治國者,不敢侮於鰥寡,而況於士民乎?故得百姓之歡心,以事其先君。治家者,不敢失於臣妾,而況於妻子乎?故得人之歡心,以事其親。夫然,故生則親安之,祭則鬼享之。是以天下和平,災害不生,禍亂不作。故明王之以孝治天下也如此。《詩》雲:'有覺德行,四國順之。'

 

Sèng-tî chiuⁿ tē káu

Chú oa̍t Thian-tōe chi sèng, jîn ûi kùi. Jîn chi hêng, bo̍k tōa î hàu. Hàu bo̍k tōa î giâm-hū. Giâm-hū bo̍k tōa î phè Thian, chek Chiu-kong kî jîn iā. Se̍k chiá Chiu-kong kau-sū Hō͘-chek í phè Thian, Chong sū Bûn-ông î bêng tông, í phè Siōng-tè. Sī í sù-hái chi lāi, kok í kî chit lâi chè. Hu sèng-jîn chi tek, iū hô-í ka-î hàu huKò chhin-siⁿ chi    chhek-hā, í iúⁿ hū-bú ji̍t giâm. Sèng-jîn in giâm í kàu kèng, in chhin í kàu ài. Sèng-jîn chi kàu put-siok jî sêng, kî chèng put-giâm jî tī, kî só͘ in chiá pún iā. Hū-chú chi tō, thian-sèng iā, kun-sîn chi gī iā. Hū-bó seⁿ chi, siok bō͘ tōa ian. Kun chhin lîm chi, kāu bō͘ tiōng ian. Kò͘ put-ài kî chhin jî ài thaⁿ-jîn chiá, ūi chi pōe tekPut-kèng kî chhin jî kèng thaⁿ-jîn chiá, ūi chi pōe lé. Í sūn chek ge̍k, bîn bô chek ian. Put-chāi î siàn, jî kai chāi î hiong-tek, sui tit chi, kun-chú put-kùi iā. Kun-chú chek put-jiân, giân su khó-tō, hêng su khó-lo̍k, tek gī khó-chun, chò sū khó-hoat, iông chí khó-koan, chin-thòe khó-tō͘, í lîm kî-bîn. Sī í kî-bîn ùi jî ài chi, chek jî siōng chi. Kò͘  lêng-sêng kî tek-kàu, jî hêng kî chèng-lēng. SiÛn`Sio̍k-jîn kun-chú, kî gî put-thek.`”

聖治章第九

  曾子曰:敢問聖人之德無以加於孝乎?”

子曰:“天地之性,人為貴。人之行,莫大於孝。孝莫大於嚴父。嚴父莫大於配天,則周公其人也。昔者周公郊祀后稷以配天,宗祀文王於明堂,以配上帝。是以四海之內,各以其職來祭。夫聖人之德,又何以加於孝乎?故親生之膝下,以養父母日嚴。聖人因嚴以教敬,因親以教愛。聖人之教不肅而成,其政不嚴而治,其所因者本也。父子之道,天性也,君臣之義也。父母生之,續莫大焉。君親臨之,厚莫重焉。故不愛其親而愛他人者,謂之悖德;不敬其親而敬他人者,謂之悖禮。以順則逆,民無則焉。不在於善,而皆在於兇德,雖得之,君子不貴也。君子則不然,言思可道,行思可樂,德義可尊,作事可法,容止可觀,進退可度,以臨其民。是以其民畏而愛之,則而像之。故能成其德教,而行其政令。《詩》雲:'淑人君子,其儀不忒。'

 

Kí hàu-hêng chiuⁿ te cha̍p

Chú oa̍t “Hàu-chú chi sū-chhin iā, ku chek tì kî-kèng, ióng chek tì kî-lo̍k, pīⁿ chek tì kî-iu, song chek tì kî-ai, chè chek tì kî-giâm. Gō͘ chiá pī ì, jiân-āu lêng sū-chhin. Sū-chhin chiá, ku siōng put-kiau, ûi hā put-loān, chāi thióng put-cheng. Ku siōng jî kiau chek bông, ûi hā jî loan chek-hêng, chāi thióng jî cheng chek peng. Sam chiá put-tû, sui ji̍t iōng sam-seng chi-iúⁿ, iû ûi put-hàu iā.”

紀孝行章第十

子曰:“孝子之事親也,居則致其敬,養則致其樂,病則致其憂,喪則致其哀,祭則致其嚴。五者備矣,然後能事親。事親者,居上不驕,為下不亂,在寵不爭。居上而驕則亡,為下而亂則刑,在寵而爭則兵。三者不除,雖日用三牲之養,猶為不孝也。”

 

Gō͘ -hêng chiuⁿ tē cha̍p-it

Chú oa̍t Gō͘-hêng chi sio̍k saⁿ-chheng, jî chōe bo̍k tōa-î put-hàu. Iàu kun chiá bô-siōng, hui sèng-jîn chiá bô-hoat, hui hàu chiá bô-chhin. Chhú tōa-loān chi-tō iā.”

五刑章第十一

子曰:“五刑之屬三千,而罪莫大於不孝。要君者無上,非聖人者無法,非孝者無親。此大亂之道也。”

 

Kóng iàu-tō chiuⁿ tē cha̍p-jī

Chú oa̍t Kàu bîn chhin-ài, bo̍k siàn î hàu. Kàu bîn lé-sūn, bo̍k siàn î tē. Î-hong ī-sio̍k, bo̍k siàn î ga̍k. An siōng tî bîn, bo̍k siàn î lé. Lé chiá, kèng jî í ì. Kò͘ kèng kî hū, chek chú ia̍tKèng kî hiaⁿ, chek tē ia̍tKèng kî kun, chek sîn ia̍tKèng chi̍t lâng, jî chhian-bān lâng ia̍t. Só͘ kèng chiá kóa, jî ia̍t chiá chiòng, chhú chi ūi iàu-tō iā.”

廣要道章第十二

子曰:“教民親愛,莫善於孝。教民禮順,莫善於悌。移風易俗,莫善於樂。安上治民,莫善於禮。禮者,敬而已矣。故敬其父,則子悅;敬其兄,則弟悅;敬其君,則臣悅;敬一人,而千萬人悅。所敬者寡,而悅者眾,此之謂要道也。”

廣至德章第十三

子曰:“君子之教以孝也,非家至而日見之也。教以孝,所以敬天下之為人父者也。教以悌,所以敬天下之為人兄者也。教以臣,所以敬天下之為人君者也。《詩》雲:'愷悌君子,民之父母。'非至德,其孰能順民如此其大者乎!”

廣揚名章第十四

子曰:“君子之事親孝,故忠可移於君。事兄悌,故順可移於長。居家理,故治可移於官。是以行成於內,而名立於後世矣。”

諫諍章第十五

  曾子曰:“若夫慈愛恭敬,安親揚名,則聞命矣。敢問子從父之令,可謂孝乎?”

子曰:“是何言與,是何言與!昔者天子有諍臣七人,雖無道,不失其天下;諸侯有諍臣五人,雖無道,不失其國;大夫有諍臣三人,雖無道,不失其家;士有諍友,則身不離於令名;父有諍子,則身不陷於不義。故當不義,則子不可以不諍於父,臣不可以不諍於君;故當不義,則諍之。從父之令,又焉得為孝乎!”

感應章第十六

子曰:“昔者明王事父孝,故事天明;事母孝,故事地察;長幼順,故上下治。天地明察,神明彰矣。故雖天子,必有尊也,言有父也;必有先也,言有兄也。宗廟致敬,不忘親也;修身慎行,恐辱先也。宗廟致敬,鬼神著矣。孝悌之至,通於神明,光於四海,無所不通。《詩》雲:'自西自東,自南自北,無思不服。'

事君章第十七

子曰:“君子之事上也,進思盡忠,退思補過,將順其美,匡救其惡,故上下能相親也。《詩》雲:'心乎愛矣,遐不謂矣。中心藏之,何日忘之。'

 

Sòng-chhin chiuⁿ tē cha̍p-peh

Chú oa̍t“Hàu-chú chi song-chhin iā, khàu put-í, lé bû-iông, giân put-bûn,ho̍k-bí put-an, bûn ga̍k put-lo̍k, sit chi put-kam, chhú ai-chhek chi chêng iā. Saⁿ ji̍t jî-sit, kàu bîn bô í sí-siong-seng. Húi put-bia̍t sèng, chhú sèng-jîn chi chèng iā. Sòng put-kòe saⁿ nî, sī bîn iú chiong iā. Ūi chi koan-kok i-kim jî kú chi, tîn kî hú-kúi jî ai-chhek chiphek-ióng khàu-khip, ai í song chiPok kî theh tiāu. Jî an-chhò͘  chiûi chi chong-biō, í kúi hióng chiChhun-chhiu chè-sū, í sî sù chi. Seng-sū ài-kèng, sí-sū ai-chhek, seng bîn chi pún chin ì, sí-seng chi-gī pī ì, hàu-chú chi sū-chhin chiong ì.”

喪親章第十八

子曰:“孝子之喪親也,哭不偯[yǐ],禮無容,言不文,服美不安,聞樂不樂,食旨不甘,此哀戚之情也。三日而食,教民無以死傷生。毀不滅性,此聖人之政也。喪不過三年,示民有終也。為之棺槨衣衾[qīn]而舉之,陳其簠簋[fǔ guǐ]而哀戚之;擗踴哭泣,哀以送之;卜其宅兆,而安措之;為之宗廟,以鬼享之;春秋祭祀,以時思之。生事愛敬,死事哀戚,生民之本盡矣,死生之義備矣,孝子之事親終矣。”
