台灣人公共事務會（FAPA）紐約市分會於7月7日（日）下午三點，於法拉盛的紐約台灣會館舉辦演講會。此次演講邀請到台大醫院外科部主治醫師兼創傷醫學部主任柯文哲醫師，以「文明社會的願景」為題進行演講。
他主張的台灣共識是民主、自由、法治、人權、社會關懷與永續經營，在這個條件下統獨都可以談，如是北京要求談判，他會以此為回應。

O! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation.
Blest with vict'ry and peace, may the Heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust;"

Yu, Ya 歌星尤雅

尤雅（1953年12月18日－），本名林麗鴻，台灣玉女歌星第一人，劉家昌的愛徒。在台北三重市出生，小學五年級參加台北電台主持人阿丁舉辦的歌唱比賽得到好成績進入雷虎唱片公司，在1965年發表難忘的愛人、錢有什麼用、沒良心的人..等作品，在歌壇闖出很高的知名度。

尤雅歌后的代表作在閩南語部分有『難忘的愛人』、『等無人』，國語歌有『往事只能回味』、『街燈下』、『母親』...等
