Chen Shu-Ju, a vegetable seller, in Taitung, Taiwan, has been honored by Time Magazine for her generosity to education and charity. She was named as one of the world’s 100 most influential people in 2010.
She lives on NT$100 each day while she found the time and resources to donate NT$10 million (US$437,000) over the years to a school and orphanage for the past 17 years!
Her generousty reminds me the story of a widow's offering. Jesus said, "...that poor widow has given more than all those ... , while she gave up her last penny." (The Bible Mark 12: 41-44)
